Hedgerow Hot Toddy

About the recipe

This recipe is so simple it barely needs instructions! 

Elderberry and port liqueur makes a great alternative to the rum/whisky or sloe gin. I particularly like Aelder Wild Elderberry Elixir, which we tasted in Scotland recently. 

Both Wild Blackberry Syrup and Spiced Elderberry Syrup work for this recipe.

  • 25ml little batch Wild Blackberry Syrup

  • 25ml sloe gin

  • 25ml dark rum or whisky

  • Hot water

  • Garnish ideas: an orange wheel, cinnamon sticks, star anise or thinly sliced fresh ginger.



  • Add all the ingredients to a mug.

  • Top up with freshly boiled water.

  • Stir, garnish and enjoy!
